During the talks about the social innovation ecosystem of Catalonia and the work on their initiative \u201cSocial Business City Barcelona<\/a>\u201d initiative, a series of improvements and new solutions needed in Latvia in this field popped up. The most significant benefit of the talks was the opportunity to get to know their other projects, as their topics partly overlap with SIC interests and opened up the possibility for valuable cooperation in the coming years.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text]

They are a non-profit social impact cooperative \u2013 working according to the principles of cooperation, collective governance and collective ownership. Since 2011, this partnership of three organizations offer their services only to organizations and companies whose main goal is to create a social impact in society. One of the goals of the organization is to generally promote knowledge and understanding of aspects of the social economy in society.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]

<\/div>[vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1692611394698{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Social Business City Barcelona<\/a>\u00a0is like a daughter organization of Tandem Social, and was founded with the support of the Muhammad Yunus Foundation (in the field of social entrepreneurship). They purposefully offer social impact mentoring services, an online course on social innovation. In collaboration with partner Actio, they also offer a social impact measurement diagnostic tool to help existing companies adapt their operating model for social impact.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]

ABOUT THIS PROJECT<\/h3>\n

With the start of this year we also start our work with the project \u201cCreation of strategy of change and raising the communication capacity of Social Innovation Centre\u201d, funded by the \u201cNGO Fund\u201d of Social Integration Foundation of Latvia. During this project we will try to find out the understanding of Latvian society about social innovation in Latvia, as well as the most effective means in informing them about this topic. Basing on the gained results, SIC will improve activities, communication and the publicly available brand from various aspects. The duration of the project is planned until October 31st, 2022.<\/p>\n

Raising the capacity for SIC as an organization will allow strengthening the role of an opinion leader, as well as the public image in the field of social innovation, and moving towards other strategically significant goals (potentially, becoming one of the founders for the competence centre for social impact in Latvia). With this project we will have an impact on the growth of the organization, and strengthen its role in the NGO sector as well as broader.<\/p>\n
